BE PREPARED FOR POLITICAL AND SECURITY RISKS IN WEST AFRICA
The Australian High Commission, Ghana, will host the second West Africa Mining Security (WAMS) Conference in Accra from 6-8 May, 2020. The event will provide senior managers and security professionals with the information necessary to make informed security and investment decisions in West Africa. Once again speakers will include some of the most informed and experienced experts on the region.
Day One will focus on security challenges in the region, with an emphasis on terrorist threats in Mali, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire and Ghana.
Day Two will examine the potential for politically motivated violence and instability during elections in Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso and Guinea in 2020, and the possible risk to mining operations.
Day Three consists of OPTIONAL workshops on Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) and Kidnap for Ransom (KFR), which will be tailored to suit the needs of mine security professionals and managers responsible for handling KFR incidents involving their company.
